Shiori Misaka is one of the main protagonists in the Kanon anime series.
Appearance[]
Shiori is a frail-looking young woman who has a light complexion and blue eyes. She has short, straight brown hair that comes down to her neck. She usually wears a woolen white jumper underneath a brown checkered shawl. She wears her school socks which are black and knee-high, as well as black school shoes.
Personality[]
Shiori is a very polite, somewhat shy, and kind individual, but also loves drama and is always inventing reasons for things that happen in her life, but the real-life drama of a sister who denies her and a life threatened by illness is encroaching on her.
As rough as her life is, Shiori has forced herself not to cry, no matter the situation. She instead hides her real emotions behind a happy and optimistic façade. She often lies about just how severe her sickness is, claiming that it's nothing more than just a common cold.
She dislikes causing trouble for others, and even admits in the visual novel that she had tried her best to not allow Yuuichi to get close to her, as she knew that her worsening condition would only cause him pain.
Shiori longs to be treated like any other normal student despite her severe illness, and also wants to once again be close with her younger sister, who started to avoid her once she learned of Shiori's fate. She longs for the times they used to have before Shiori's state worsened, and wants to have more memories with her.
She has also been proven to be a very stubborn individual, even going against her doctors orders to wait outside of the school every day instead of resting.

- Her name (栞 - Shiori) literally means "to remove", "to discard" (the word can also be written as "删" (shān) in Chinese).
- She is the only main character who did not have any interactions with Yuuichi in the past.
- Shiori is the second shortest of the main characters, only taller than Ayu.
